American Finns in the Midwest, radio play in Virginia, cool shows in NYC… Read on…
First, I will be having some great gigs in NYC in the end of July and early August. After a hiatus I will be back in Somethin’ Jazz Club in midtown and I will try the Stage 3 at Rockwood Music Hall for the first time which is exciting. My producer Ape Anttila will be back in town and play on both gigs so the shows are extra special! Check the performance info under the “Performances” tab.
To the other news – here’s what’s been cooking:
Music video ‘Heart At Home’ is OUT!

Great Radio Success on WRRW in Virginia
I had an 8-week long radio campaign throughout the States and got some radio play here and there. In the end of May Ape and I drove to Williamsburg, Virginia and played a live show on WRRW, an independent radio station. You can listen to this one-hour show by clicking here.
And check this out: the radio station has been playing my album so much since then that it’s reached a spot #2 on their chart. Paul McCartney was number 92 that week. Funny, eh?
South Dakota baby!
Frederick, South Dakota – Never been to that Midwest but hey, now I did it! I had an honor to sing and play my music to a bunch of American Finns at the FinnFest in the midst of the greenest prairies. I took the opportunity to enjoy the fresh air of the country side and hear family stories of the Finns moving to the new country and making a living as farmers. There was even a proper Finnish sauna that I invited myself to go visit and got a perfect löyly. Thank you to the hosts
Other shout outs
The charity album Action Moves People that I sang one track to (There’s Always Tomorrow) got a 2014 Independent Music Award. Happy to have been part of this project! Check the album out here!
Oh and… Something might be sizzling in Asia. That’s all I have to say about that right now. I will keep the suspense boiling…
Thank you for reading and enjoy the beautiful summer!
